There are a few basic elements that a good bartender must keep in mind to run a bar with as little effort as possible. I have been in the restaurant and bar business for a long time, and have seen my share of mistakes.
Some people advocaterequires lying your way into a job, but this is not the right way. In a posh restaurant setting, the bartender may have little to no contact with the public, but in a cozy bar type setting, the bartender could be in constant contact with the public. Some managers want bartending experience, and some don't.
When the mixers are the same too, the time to make a lot of drinks is reduced to the time it would take to make only a few. If a customer comes accompanied by a date or companion, treat them both as if they are royalty, address the customer like you know them and remember them. Wash glasses when they become empty so that you will always have spare glasses.
